Nothing says baby season like new stores popping up.
After conquering the exercise gear, home and fashion sections, Mr Price is trying something new.
The store opened a Mr Price Baby in East Gate, the popular Johannesburg east shopping centre in Bedfordview.
In an event attended by parenting influencers and a pop-in by actress Zikhona Sodlaka, they officially declared their new venture open, calling it the one-stop shop for every baby’s needs.
Donovan Baney, Managing Director of Mr Price, says they saw the need to go into the baby business after launching baby clothing in 2020.
“After two years of thorough market research, talking to parents and soon-to-be moms, we have designed a store experience to make parenting affordable and convenient for all South Africans. As you would expect from Mr Price, the new concept will differentiate from competitors through its famous fashion-value formula.”
He says it will also be different because it includes an in-store shopping experience that is tailored to the baby and toddler shopper.
The stores cater to babies and children up to seven years old.
For now, they are starting with six standalone stores in various provinces.
